This Little Light of Mine has been a popular Christian song for many years. The source of the music and lyrics is unknown. This piece illustrates how various musical genres can be incorporated into contemporary Christian music. The arrangement begins with a gospel type of introduction which leads into a "shuffle" rhythm. This section is followed by a classical rock and roll section. A bluegrass interpretation follows and the piece is rounded out with mainstream jazz. "No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.
